Headed South
Headed down to the Island today and just made it into Georgia . I know they do things different in the south, but I'm pretty sure a Big Mac is still suppose to have something between the two upper buns?

Rainbow
Yet another day of storms and heavy rain, but at least it has concluded with a sunny evening and this nice full rainbow. Too bad I wasn't seeing it from a better angle.

Happy Birthday, Judy!
Today is Judy's Birthday, but since she had to come to Springfield to run some errands for the dog club, I decided she should at least start off with a decent breakfast.
Since the weather didn't cooperate the rest of the day, we ended up just heading to Quincy to pick up some items from the WBU there. Horrible storms and wind forced us to stop driving a couple of times, but we still ended up having fun. The iPhone is always good for entertainment while waiting!
Silly Peaches enjoyed playing (eating?) the tissue paper and boxes.
This exit sign is near Quincy. I can only assume it's a road to nothing?

Introducing Sly
It's almost official, this little guy will be heading my way in early July!
SLY - 2 weeks old
(Camera shy, Sly?)

SLY - 3 weeks old (red collar)
As you may remember from an earlier post, this litter is from Lilly's mom and Easton's dad, so it will be interesting to see what similarities there are as Lilly and Easton had totally different personalities.
Not sure that it makes any difference as far as personality goes, but like Easton, Sly was firstborn in his litter. His sister Suri is also coming to our region. Here is the complete name rundown in birth order:
Sly, Sula, Slick, Summit, Slate, Spud, Suri, and Sentury
Sly, Sula, Slick, Summit, Slate, Spud, Suri, and Sentury
Patty, the breeder caretaker, was very clever with that last name as it was the 100th CCI puppy born in her home. It will also be the last puppy from Halor as she will be retired after this litter.

A Real Rainbow
"Apparently CCI is at the end of a rainbow."
Suzanne, the puppy program manager at Canine Companions for Independence, captured this photo.
A Clothes Rainbow
I just hate doing laundry. Doesn't everyone? It's not that I really mind sorting clothes or loading the washer and dryer, but for some reason I just despise the final step of hanging the clothes. However, on this particular day, just as I was finishing, I turned around and realized I had unintentionally made a clothes rainbow. It made me smile.
Hmmm, I wonder if anything will ever make me smile while unloading the dishwasher?

In Memory of Fremont
Sad news to report. Jane's beloved Fremont passed away today at age 14. After being rescued from a rough start in life, Fremont spent the next 13 years in the lap of luxury in a home filled with love.
As Billy use to say
"If we could all be so lucky to come back as one of Jane's dogs."
HAVE YOU A DOG IN HEAVEN?
Have you a dog in Heaven, Lord?
And do you pat its head?
Does he sit up and beg each night
before he goes to bed?
Does he look up with shining eyes
when he sees Your smilling face?
Does he wag his stubby little tail
when he wants to run a race?
Have You a dog in Heaven, Lord?
Is there room for just one more?
Cause my little dog died today;
he'll be waiting at Your door.
Please take him into Heaven, Lord.
And keep him there for me,
just feed him, pet him, love him, Lord,
thats all he'll ask of Thee.
